Frequently Asked Questions - General
1. What happened to Derby Famous and do you have their files?
The Derby Famous name will live on as a term of endearment for our best known skaters in the sport. In February 2018, Apex City Armbands was handed the Derby Famous armband torch. We have been trained by the former owners of Derby Famous and are in possession of all the Derby Famous files from all 7 years of DF. We promise to continue the Derby Famous legacy with quality armbands and top-notch customer service. We are the only DFA armband provider. (Derby Famous Approved!)
2. How do I decide on sizing? I have shipping and/or ordering questions.

3. When will I get my order?
Armband production takes on average 1-2 weeks to ship out. Although rare, up to 3 weeks during peak ordering seasons. Then add on shipping time which is dependent on your location. You will receive an email notification when your item(s) ship. If you need your armbands by a specific date, please let us know in the special instructions and we will do our best to accommodate.
4. From where do you ship?
Our distribution center is located in San Diego, CA USA.
5. Do you ship internationally?
Yes. Please choose an international shipping option at check out. Shipping cost of international orders is heavily discounted. Apex City Armbands is NOT responsible for any customs charges incurred upon delivery/pickup of your package.
6. Will you be at RollerCon?
Yes! Keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram (@apexcityarmbands) for details and promotions - THE BEST DEALS EVERY YEAR! We will have backpacks available for pre-order and pick-up at our booth. At RC, we will be taking orders for shipment after RC as well as armbands available on-site at a premium. On-site armbands are a great option for international skaters to avoid expensive shipping costs. We will have armbands to try on for sizing and will offer free re-sizing of any Apex City/Derby Famous armbands (as well as others.) We will also offer on-site vinyl numbers (only) for your scrimmage shirts, jerseys, and costumes.
7. What about sponsorships?
We have a small set of sponsorships with a few select teams as part of our marketing budget every year. We are not currently accepting any new league sponsorships. However, if your league is placing a group order, we will consider a limited number of sponsorships for individual skaters in need of financial assistance. Please send us an email to inquire on their behalf.
8. Do you make donations?
We make regular cash donations to our favorite non-profits. Transgender Law Center, ACLU, Nevada FIRST, to name a few. We occasionally will consider in-kind donations to 501C3 non-profits only. If you would like to send us a request for an in-kind donation, please send us an email. If you do not get a response before your deadline, we apologize as we simply cannot accommodate every request we receive.
9. Do you accept returns?
Short answer is "no." Our armbands are custom and made-to-order therefore we cannot simply restock your armbands on the shelves. However, we want you to love your armbands, so if there is a problem with your order please send us an email at contact@apexcityarmbands.com. We will resize any armbands free of charge. Please also let us know if you have any issues or concerns with your Everything Backpack.
